SARI SHOPPING
Buying a sari is unlike any western clothing experience. You go into a shop filled to the max with all different types of fabrics and sit in front of a bunch of men. Three or four men all start pulling down fabrics and opening them up in front of you. When you wish to try a fabric, they wrap the sari for you. If only the rest of my shopping could be so simple. I went home with this sari.

Beautiful! That's a different way to shop... I've never heard of that. Sounds interesting.

@PeaceSearcher - Thank you...its a major compliment coming from a man that sees saris everyday
@speraquodvereor - Thank you John.
@Passionflwr86 - Yes its very different...a little intimidating, lol.
@ZSA_MD - Its very efficient! And funny thing is, half the people here try to speak to me in Hindi.
@TheSecretLifeOfPandas - yes they are amazingly beautiful! And funny thing is, this sari in the photo is prob the equivalent of casual clothing. I also have an amazing South Indian silk sari that was a gift from Indu, the grooms mom.
@Jillycarmel - Thank you Jill!
Thank god for people who wear heritage,
It's growing more and more creepy as every diverse culture
Slowly but surely chooses to dress and behave like English Men
More and More each year.
I wish there would be a larger backlash against it.
Gentleman
I am not
@kirbym - Agreed:)
@PeaceSearcher - I love to see diff cultures wear their ethnic clothing. And saris are beautiful.
@macphoto - Hope you are doing well, i am tired of visiting this blog again n again:) why no updates?
Lovely fabric! I like the color. You're so cool in it.
@RestlessButterfly - thanks Rez...Ive decided I love saris and want a whole wardrobe, lol.
Buying a sari in America is horrible though. The women are rude and somewhat arrogant. They always give me a hard time for not being able to properly wrap a sari.
Some of the women are really sweet, though, and I think people are usually better when I take my mom with me. (Haha!)
I love the one you are wearing though, the work is gorgeous.
@your__revolution - Thanks...my only experience in a sari shop was in Delhi...I have nothing to compare it with...and the stores there were filled with men...ya, like that wasnt intimidating. I'm still practicing the whole wrapping it myself.
:)
I had no doubts that you'd look great in a sari. I'm glad I stopped by to see it. It is too bad shopping isn't that simple.
@zionlover - no kidding! Thats why I like online shopping...lol. And thanks, i love my sari. I was hoping Id get invited to a holiday party so I could wear it again, lol.
